The Swim America Florida Keys Open Water Swim raises funds that go directly to cancer research and patient care programs at Miami Cancer Institute. Each participating swimmer age 18 and over is asked to raise a minimum of $500, and those under 18, a minimum of $200. Swimmers can elect to swim alone or as part of a team. Distance options are 1/2 mile; 1 mile; and 2 miles. The event takes place at Founders Park, mile marker 87 bayside. Swimming starts at 9:45 a.m. and there is to be a post-event c
